Sam passed away on 16 July 2003
from Hodgkins Disease, having been diagnosed 6 years earlier. Throughout
her illness, Sam’s bravery, dignity, selflessness and continued
zest for life was legendary. It is awe inspiring the way she almost
seemed to embrace the disease as an opportunity; to learn more about
holistic medicine, to meet different people, study different philosophies,
to learn about the power of the mind and more about herself. Sam’s
illness eventually took her life but it never seemed to dampen her
spirit - and her spirit will continue to inspire us forever.
Aims
The Perky Sam Fund aims to raise money so that Sam’s
influence will extend beyond us, to make a positive and tangible
benefit to the lives of those who are fighting cancer; to help fund
research or potentially provide scholarships to those studying in
the field. It’s our way of giving something back, on Sam’s
behalf, and in her honour.
Benefactors of the Perky Sam fund will be announced on the web
site.
