Okay, so that title sounds all Anthony Robbins, but stick with us: we really
have found the guaranteed way to get your dream job. I'll get to the precise solution in a moment, but I need a momentary digression to set the scene.
Mum always said working really hard makes you see things that aren't there, and it's much better to start the day with a Japanese Slipper (the cocktail, you fools!) and just ease into things. Or was it the other way around?
Fact is, it's a mad house here at Nectarine. In a good way: we’re extremely busy but we work for clients so nice and lovely we want to take them home and feed them Japanese slippers (..must…stop…now…)
Happily we have found some great new and renewed Nectarinos in the form of Luke and Matthew, stars at coding and animation.
But - and feel free to whistle the twilight zone tune here -
we also added a new member of staff without knowing it. That’s right – we’re way past that old fashioned stuff of hiring our people and knowing who works for us.
Even better, this person has apparently even been the lead here at Nectarine and we don’t even know what he looks like or if he can count to ten. (Which is a bit odd, because being incredibly handsome, smart, sexually dynamite and largely modest is usually a prerequisite for that kind of role here at Nectarine.) Are we slowly
going insane getting more insane?
Check out this screen shot from NewGrounds where 'Jack Currie', also known as Generate, is posing as a member of Nectarine and creator of our glorious Flash animations! (We'd love to point you to the original site, but it got pulled by NewGrounds excellent admin, Tom Fulp).
So Generate has stolen our animations, created a whole persona and work history, and begun some fictional merger between 'NectarineInc' and 'Generate'. He has hundreds of reviews and votes for our animations and even a couple of NewGrounds awards! Reading through the various posts (before the account was pulled) was very weird; it was like entering into
Bizarro World!
Here's Jack Currie's rip-off of our bios, replete with spelling mistakes, lack of punctuation and bad grammar:
Even though he was ripping all our animation and claiming it as his own, we do see the funny side, and imitation is next to godliness (did I get that right?). But one downside to all this is that 'Jack' was using Nectarine cred to solicit free work by unwary Flash folk for his Generate company. Bad Jack, bad!
Anyway, there you have it. If you've got a dream job you're after, don't go through all the hassle of applying for the position.
Make it up! It's a virtual world- get virtually hired!
Postscript:
He's a busy one, that Jack. He's got himself into
FlashRing.com too.
If you have any Jack/Generate/NectarineInc sightings, let us know!
Hey, this actually happened at Nectarine! And to our good friend Jack Curry, although to protect his identity we've called him 'Phil' in this strip. We're discrete like that...
